How to Score Free Stuff on the Internet

Okay, so let’s talk about free stuff . I mean, come on…who doesn’t like getting free stuff, right? The topic of my article today is how to get free stuff on the internet. In today’s dismal economy, you’ve got to do what you can just to get by sometimes and getting all the freebies you can is a good way to start! As a parent of a young family, I’ve always enjoyed searching out discounts and freebies online. I guess you could say it was really kind of a hobby of mine. It’s true that at one time not all that long ago, this type of frugality probably would have been looked down upon a little bit. But now, as our economic downturn is finally being labeled for what it is, a recession, I am proud of my frugal ways and my ability to uncover lots of freebies and free stuff. And I'm happy to pass it on to you dear reader!

First, a little about me and how I’ve been able to find all the free stuff I have. It all started about a year or so ago. I kind of enjoyed looking on the Internet and finding free samples, free offers, free coupons, free trials, etc. At first, I was a little hesitant to give out too much information such as my home address to have all the free stuff mailed to. However, I must admit that, even though my home address is given out to numerous sites, I have definitely NOT seen an increase in the amount of “junk mail” I receive via snail mail. Whew, who really wants more waste going into our landfills, right? Plus, realistically, how are you supposed to get all the freebies and free stuff if you don’t give out your mailing address? Anyway, how I started out was by going to only a few trusted websites over and over again that offered a wide variety of free samples. And these samples would constantly be replaced with new ones. Then, encouraged by my success, I signed up for some “reward points” type websites that reward members every time they click through an email or make an online purchase through their website. These “points” websites typically offer prizes in the form of gift cards for reputable, well-known retailers.

One of the things I have found that works best for me is to set up another email address (both hotmail and yahoo are two examples of free email accounts available) which is devoted just to offers I sign up for. That way, my normal email account doesn’t get clogged with offers and advertisements from the merchants I signed up for.

As I’ve gotten more successful at this, and received more free stuff, I now feel confident sharing this information with family and friends. I’ve even started my own blog with links to some great freebies currently available. I’ve titled it We Luv Free Stuff (www.weluvfreestuff.blogspot.com) because, hey, it’s true…we really do love free stuff! Please feel free to stop by any time to check out the freebies, free offers, free sample offers, etc all available on the Internet completely free of charge.
